Where to start when you want to Optimize your life

Start with assessing where you are

To optimize anything, including your life, you must start by assessing the current state of affairs. When assessing your life, looking at reality straight in the eyes is not always easy. You may need some unbiased help.

Then you need to understand what your priorities are. Finally, assert where you want to invest more thought, creativity, time, and energy in improving.

Take a look at these areas is your life:

1. Self

2. Body

3. Relationships with family, friends, and at work

4. Financial

5. Physical surroundings, including your home, garden, car, and workspace.

6. Nature – what part it plays in your life

7. Spiritual of any kind

Grade these areas for yourself on a scale of 1-10, given your priorities.

What do you want?

If you don’t have your priorities organized the way you want them, this is your chance to make a shift in perspective about what you want your life to look and feel like ultimately—looking and feeling are not the same thing. That’s an important point to know from the get-go. In a general sense, you need to know what you want. It’s not always simple, but have a go at it!

Sit down with your assessment from above and ask yourself that question for the coming three months, one year, three years, and five years.

Now you can start

Make a plan for the next 12 weeks. You can use this excellent book to do that. But even before reading that book and planning the next 12 weeks (three months), look at each of the areas above and think of one thing, one single action you can take in each of the areas of your life for improvement in the direction you want to take it.
That’s how you start when you want to optimize your life.

My curent optimization plan will start by a skype meeting with Kexin and Yang (in his new lab in China) on cancer resistance of subterranean mammals across the globe syudying their cancer resistance and ageing compared with Israeli Spalax studies till now. These new studis needs years of study so I am constrained but at least will launch a new program for my atudents Kexin and Yang and their students. We will focus paticularly on transposable elements (jumping genes) across the genome caousing adaptive mutations including cancer resistance, This prograom will continue my 74 year study in Spalax. Continuity and comparative analysis are of immese importance. So wish us success,

All my blessings for your next week,

    Kisses, Eibi Nevo,
